Madd Gear Scooters originate from Australia but have now exploded into the UK and also made a great name for themselves worldwide. With almost 10 year in the business Madd Gear Scooters are recognized as some of the best hardcore scooters in the market place today. The MGP Base is the entry model scooter and Team Edition is the original now updated for 2011. For something that bit special though the Nitro or lighter weight Ninja will easily result in you being the envy of the skate park!
Its worth noting that the price of scooters can vary depending on the colour.

MPG Scooter stands for Madd Gear Pro.
What you get as standard on all of these Madd Scooters (with exception of MPG Mini Scooter):
Deck - All the Madd Scooters have 4 inch Reinforced Concave Decks. Being concave, (bends up at the sides) a bit like a skate board, arguably makes for a more comfortable ride but also depending on your stance can make certain tricks much easier by giving you much more control.
Brakes – These scooters all have the BAMF Slide In Flex Brake System. I won’t go into detail about what BAMF means except to say Bad and Mother feature so go use your imagination. In other words this is a top braking system that allows you to brake and slide and to use this to feature to funk up your tricks!
Forks – Krunk Forged Forks come as standard. Krunk is widely recognized as producing quality scooter products. They are tough and reliable so you know you will have a product that lasts.
Age range – These Madd Gear scooters are for ages 8 and above. (With the exception of the New Madd Mini Scooter for 5years +)
Max Rider weight – 100KG or 220lbs which is pretty standard for all scooters. (With the exception of the New Madd Mini Scooter )
which has a max weight of 35kgs)
What you get with each model:
MGP Mini Scooter -
At last the Mini version of the Original MGP Scooter is here!! This scooter has all the features of the Madd Gear Pro but with a smaller frame. Really lightweight this scooter is designed for 5 years and upwards and has a max weight of 35kg. On this scooter you get a reinforced mini deck, patented quick stop brake and oversized collar clamp. You also have an alloy headset and alloy tempered steering tube, Eva MGP Mini pro grips and plastic end bars. The wheels are MGP 85a PU’s with ZXZ-C pro bearings. A great starter stunt scooter for your kid to more on to.
MGP 2011 Base Scooter/Team Edition -
These 2 models have a lot in common. Both come with 18.5” wide x 22” high Krunk adjustable Cromoly tempered one piece Y-Bars. Cromoly is a high carbon steel . Using this material you can create stronger but lighter components and its commonly used in aircrafts so you know it’s gonna stand up to the job! With MGP Pro Bar Clamp and durable MGP Squid grips you also get a Krunk Triple Stacked Collar Clamp on these models. This triple clamp makes the connection much more robust. Both have ProTech Alloy Headset and bearings and full length MGP Logo Grip Tape.
The MGP 2011 Base has 100 mm 85a MGP Pro 12 spoke wheels using ZXZ C Pro Bearings whereas the Team Edition has the favorable 100mm Aero Alloy core Wheels and Krunk K-1 Bearings hence you pay a little extra for it. Its worth noting that the price for the Base scooter can vary depending on the colour – Currently the Orange/Black and Green Black are reduced so click to buy now at a great price.
Madd Nitro/Madd Ninja -
Again these two scooter share most features. Both the Nitro and Ninja come fully loaded with Krunk Chomoly one piece Bat Wing handle bars and BAMF Rig Grips with alloy end bars. On these two models the Krunk Sealed Headset comes as standard as do the MPG 110mm Blade Core Wheels and Krunk K-2 bearings. Finished with BAMF Pro Grip tape you have a ride that will turn heads and that you can totally rely on when throwing tricks.
So what’s the difference then? Well the MPG Ninja Scooter has the lighter frame, and looks totally cool with its top to toe finish in Matt Black Paint but that’s pretty much it. Priced around the same level which one you pick is all a matter of personal choice.
Whatever way you look at it with a Madd Gear Scooter you should be able to pull some mean tricks.
