All of the micro scooters pictured above possess the following features unless otherwise specified.

  • Easy Fold Mechanism – With the exception of the Micro Kickboard/Compact, and the Mini Micro/Maxi Micro scooters all the Micros listed above feature an easy fold mechanism. This uses a quick release latch which allows you to quickly and simply fold the scooter in half making it ideal for storing or transporting, yet sturdy enough to remain rigid an upright whilst in use.
  • PU Wheels – All Micro scooter wheels are made of Polyurethane 87o Shore A. (with the exception of the Flex Air which has 200mm inflatable tyres). Polyurethane wheels are high grade thermoplastic elastomer, bridging the gap between rubber and traditional thermoplastic wheels. 87o Shore A is the measure of hardness or the resistance to permanent indentation. A soft scooter wheel may have a 75o Shore A and a hard skate wheel would go up to around 98o Shore a.
  • Abec 5 Bearings – These are the standard bearing on most scooters around these days and are a good quality bearing. Much more important with regards to the performance of your Micro scooter in terms of speed and smoothness is that you maintain your bearings with regularly grease (how often depends upon frequency of use).
  • Max load – All of the scooters by Micro Scooter come with a maximum load weight of 100KG (with the exception the Mini Micro and the Maxi Micro). For those of you still working on old money that’s roughly 15 stone 10.5 lbs.
  • 5+ to Adult – With the exception of the Micro Light Oasis Blue which has the age range 4-7 all the other Micro Scooters have no real maximum age range! The Sprite Micro Scooter and the Bullet Micro Scooter are both suitable as starter scooters from the age of about 5 years old.
  • 7 years + – The Micro Flex/Rocket/Compact Kickboard and Micro Speed V2 are all slightly more advanced and recommended for 7 years and above.
  • 10 years plus – The Monster Bullet, the Micro Kickboard Original and the Micro Extreme XT are Micro Scooters centred much more around stunts and tricks. As such they are suited to a slightly higher age group.
Xtreme Team – If you are looking for a Micro Scooter with a difference then perhaps it’s worth considering one that has been designed in conjunction with the Micro Extreme Team. This is a group of professional scooter riders from around the world who have won a lot of scooting competitions between them and seriously know what features make a great scooter. The Micro Extreme XT and the Bullet Street Pro are worth looking at if you are after something special.
